On March 17th 2019, the State Championship in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu was held in the city of Veles, organized by the Macedonian Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation. Athletes from all club members of the federation were present, and all of them demonstrated great performance in their fights. The team members of Roots BJJ Ohrid, fought their way to total of 20 medals in the weight categories and absolute categories altogether, with 3 state champions. Nikola Protugerov is the state champion in adult white belt, -94,5 kg category, Tome Gjoreski is the state champion in adult white belt, +100,5 kg category and Edvud Demirovski is the state champion in juvenille yellow belt category. Beside them, the rest of the team won 6 silver medals and 8 bronze medals in their weight categories. In the absolute categories, Nikola Protugerov, despite having a shoulder injury fought his way to the finals, but lost, securing the second place, and the silver medal. In the blue belt absolutes, Marija Ristevska and Daniel Andreevski won bronze medals.
